5 Reasons to Love Penta-brid DVRs

One of the biggest challenges of converting analog systems to HD is the variety of platforms found in older coax systems. Another difficulty can be integrating IP cameras with an existing cabled system. Not all DVRs are one-platform-fits-all. And once you find the right recording device, configuring it can be another uphill battle.

Dahua has expanded its line of HDCVI 3.0 Penta-Brid DVRs to bring another level of flexibility and ease of installation to video surveillance recording.

Here are five reasons to love Penta-brid DVRssupport for IP, HDCVI, CVBS, AHD, and TVI—the most popular camera technologies on the market.

But wait, there’s more. Yes, Dahua’s Ultra and Pro DVRs offer Penta-brid compatibility and deliver a streamlined, open-source recording solution, but take a minute to explore five additional reasons to embrace the newest additions to the Dahua HDCVI 3.0 family:

  1. Ease of Installation

Equipped with plug-and-play functionality to simplify installation and operation, these Penta-brid DVRs automatically recognize the incoming signals of each attached camera without any setup.

  1. Up to 70 Percent Savings on Bandwidth and Storage

Dahua Ultra and Pro Series DVRs include the new Smart H.264+ codec dual-stream video compression for savings of up to 70 percent bandwidth and storage when compared to standard H.264. Developed by Dahua, Smart H.264+ allows video surveillance systems to retain more information for longer periods of time without sacrificing image quality.

  1. Support for both Analog and IP Cameras

Providing outstanding flexibility, the new Dahua HDCVI 3.0 DVRs are available in 16- and 32-channel models, and can simultaneously record and monitor video from analog and IP camera, or a combination of both. They support from 5MP to 12MP on IP camera inputs for recording and live viewing (see Model Snapshot below).

  1. Intelligent Video System (IVS)

Standard and premium IVS analytics are available on one channel for the Ultra and Pro Series HDCVI 3.0 DVRs. Facial detection is available on the first analog channel to detect and capture a snapshot of a human face in a defined area within a scene. The Ultra Series 16-channel model includes expanded features that include people counting.

  1. Advanced Options

Dahua’s HDCVI 3.0 DVRs deliver advanced options such as built-in motion detection algorithms and customized recording modes.  They allow the operator to specify a region in the playback video to search for a motion detection event, saving time and manpower.

Offering a variety of configurable recording options, they can be programmed to record if motion is detected or an alarm is triggered, saving space on the built-in hard drive. They also can be programmed to record on schedule or at different time intervals, which can be customized for individual cameras or copied to all cameras.
