Our New TiOC Cameras Mark 10 Years of HDCVI

Meaningful milestones are meant to be celebrated, so we are particularly excited to mark the 10th anniversary of our patented High Definition Composite Video Interface (HDCVI) technology.

Launched in 2012, HDCVI continues to deliver on the promise of lowering costs and maximizing return on investment by delivering long-distance HD video over existing coaxial cable infrastructure. And yet, as security dealers and end users have discovered, a seamless upgrade experience for analog systems is just part of the HDCVI story.

Throughout the video standard’s history, our engineers have continued to develop and expand upon its capabilities and associated peripherals, including innovative recorders and camera models that breathe new life into aging analog systems.

One example of this continually developing technology portfolio is HDCVI TiOC, also known as “Three-in-One Camera.” When paired with a Dahua AI-enabled recorder, four distinct alerts proactively deter unwanted incidents before they occur — IR white-light illumination, flashing red and blue lights, audio warning and siren.

Smart Dual Illumination Mode applies an AI algorithm for intelligent switching between IR and white-light illuminators. This leads to less light pollution, since the white-light mode is only turned on when triggered and turns off once the target’s movement is no longer detected. Additionally, the red and blue lights are activated simultaneously.

There are two ways the Smart Dual Illumination Mode can be set-up on the Dahua XVR: IVS (Perimeter Protection) and SMD.

The TiOC HDCVI portfolio includes the new 5MP, 2.8mm eyeball camera (A52CJC2). With the aforementioned feature sets in mind, let’s take a look at how the A52CJC2 can deter an event from happening when set-up with IVS (Perimeter Protection).

  1. When night falls, the camera’s IR illuminators turn on once the camera can no longer render usable video in a low-light scene.
  2. The white-light illuminators turn on when a target enters the monitoring area.
  3. Once the target triggers the rule area, a siren — along with flashing red and blue lights — activate to warn the target.
  4. After the target exits the area, the white-lights turn off and the IR illuminator turns back on*.

Now, let’s take a look at how the A52CJC2 can deter an event from happening when set-up with SMD+ via the Dahua XVR.

  1. The camera’s IR illuminators turn on once the camera can no longer render usable video in a low-light scene.
  2. The white-light illuminators, siren, verbal warning and flashing red and blue lights, turn on simultaneously when a target enters the monitoring area.
  3. After the target exits the area, everything turns off and the IR illuminator turns back on*.

Wait, there’s more! Because most high definition displays have a 16:9 aspect ratio — and most analog cameras display images in a 4:3 format — Dahua offers HDCVI 5MP A52C, A51B and A52B Series with a 16:9 aspect ratio. With no image stretching or distortion, new scene details emerge so users never miss important information that could solve a criminal act.
